20 | LRI4E / HRI4E Direct Vent Gas Insert|20installation919-409 07/07/141LRI4E / HZRI4ECONVERSION FROM NG TO LPLRI4E/HZRI4E using SIT 885 NOVA Gas ValveBefore you begin:Shut off the gas supply to the unit.Disconnect all electrical supply to the unit.Always let the appliance cool to room temperature before servicing.1) Remove the left side control cover.2) Loosen both screws at the top of the valve about ½ way out. Lift thevalve body and lean outward. The Valve Brackets will rest open asshown on the right.3) Disconnect the Cable coming from the Pressure Regulator Motor.WARNINGThis conversion kit shall be installed by a qualified service agency inaccordance with the manufacturer’s instructions and all applicable codesand requirements of the authority having jurisdiction. If these instructionsis not followed exactly, a fi re, explosion or production of carbon monoxidemay result causing property damage, personal injury or loss of life. Thequalified service agency is responsible for the proper installation of thiskit. The installation is not proper and complete until the operation of theconverted appliance is checked as specified in the manufacturer’s instruc-tions supplied with the kit.THIS CONVERSION MUST BE DONE BY A QUALIFIED GAS FITTERIF IN DOUBT DO NOT DO THIS CONVERSION!Side control coverCable from motorThe valve in the LRI4E is attached using 2 screws and 2 hooks locatedbelow the valve. Loosening the screws part way and lift the valve todisengage the hooks.The valve will then hinge outward allowing access to the componentsand pressure taps located on the top of the valve without completelyremoving the valve.Conversion Kit 396-972 includes:1 911-011 Stepper Motor LP for 885 SIT1 904-947 Orifi ce #531 910-101 Pilot Orifi ce #351 918-590 Decal - Conversion to LP1 908-528 Label Propane1 904-529 5/32" long Allen Key4) Remove and discard 2 Pressure regulator screws A (T20 or slot), Pres-sure Regulator B, Spring and Diaphragm C.5) Ensure the rubber gasket, which is prefitted as part of the Assembly,is properly positioned. Install the new Pressure Regulator using the 2xM4 x .7 screws supplied. Tighten the screws to 25lb-in. In the event thatthe screw threads are cross threaded or stripped, replace the valveassembly.Install the enclosed propane identification label to the valve body where itcan be easily seen.CONVERSION FROM NG TO LPLRI4E /HRI4E using SIT 885 NOVA Gas Valve
