YOUNGCHILDREN SHOULD BE CAREFULLYSUPERVISED WHEN THEY ARE IN THESAME ROOM AS THE APPLIANCE.MAINTENANCEINSTRUCTIONS1) Always turn the gas valve to off before cleaning.For relighting, refer to lighting instructions. Keepthe burner and control compartment cleanby brushing and vacuuming at least once ayear. When cleaning the logs, use a clean softpaint brush as the logs are fragile and easilydamaged.2) Clean (never when unit is hot) appliance, doorand louvers with a damp cloth. Never use anabrasive cleaner. The gold louvers (and optionalgold door) may be scratched if abrasives areused to clean them.The heater is finished in a heat resistantpaint and should only be refinished with heatresistant paint (not with wall paint). Regencyuses StoveBrite Paint - Metallic Black #6309.3) Make a periodic check of burner for properposition and condition. Visually check the flameof the burner periodically, making sure theflames are steady; not lifting or floating. If thereis a problem, call a qualified service person.4) The appliance and venting system must beinspected before use, and at least annually,by a qualified field service person, to ensurethat the flow of combustion and ventilation airis not obstructed.During the annual service call, the burnersshould be removed from the burner tray andcleaned. Replace the embers but do not blockthe pilot.5) Keep the area near the appliance clear andfree from combustible materials, gasoline andother flammable vapours and liquids6) Each time the appliance is lit, it may causecondensation and fog the glass. This conden-sation and fog is normal and will disappear ina few minutes as the glass heats up.Never operate the appliance without theglass properly secured in place or with thedoor open.7) Do not use this appliance if any part has beenunder water. Immediately call a qualified serv-ice technician to inspect the appliance and toreplace nay part of the control system and anygas control which has been under water.8) Periodically check the pilot flames. Correct flamepattern has three strong blue flames: 1 flow-ing around the thermopile and 1 around thethermocouple, and 1 flowing across the rearof the burner (it does not have to be touchingthe burner)..DOOR GLASSYour Regency insert is supplied with hightemperature, Neoceram ceramic glass that willwithstand the highest heat that your unit will produce.If your glass requires cleaning, we recommendusing an approved glass cleaner available at allauthorized dealers.
