Operating Instructions H37i40WARNINGIn case the transmission drive belt breaksduring operation, and if the machine is ona slope, the machine will freewheel downthe slope. To maintain control, immediate-ly (1) Release the steering levers and si-multaneously (2) Move the FSC to the NEU-TRAL-PARK position. When the machineis stopped or moving slowly, engage theparking brake.NOTE: The emergency stop procedure is exactlythe same procedure as used to normally stop andpark the machine.FUEL TANK SELECTOR VALVEThe tractor is equipped with dual fuel tanks. A fuelselector valve regulates which tank is being uti-lized. The valve is located on the left hand side ofthe engine. The valve switches between the LHand RH gas tanks. DO NOT run tank dry beforeswitching tanks.Fuel TankSelector ValveFuel Tank Selector ValveADJUSTABLE FOOT RESTSSome carrier frames are outfitted with adjustablefoot rests. To adjust, rotate the footrests upwardand slide to the desired position. Rotate the foot-rest down and insert the edge of the footrest intothe nearest notch to lock in position.Adjustable FootrestADJUSTING CUTTING HEIGHTWARNINGNever adjust cutting height while the mow-er is moving. Before adjusting cuttingheight or servicing, move the ForwardSpeed Control (FSC) into the NEUTRAL-PARK position, engage the parking brake,and disengage the blade clutch (PTO).Tractor should not be moving while adjust-ing cutting height.Cutting height is adjusted from operator’s seatusing the deck lift pedal to assist in raising thedeck while adjusting the cutting height hitch pin.1. Disengage PTO and stop tractor.2. Push down on deck lift pedal until it latches inthe full up (transport) position.3. Select the desired cutting height by movingthe hitch pin to the location shown on thecutting height decal.
