This type ofdamage may reduce the life expectancy of thedevice.PREVENTING ELECTROSTATIC DAMAGETo prevent electrostatic damage, observe thefollowing precautions:F Avoid hand contact by transporting andstoring products in static-safe containers.F Keep electrostatic-sensitive parts in theircontainers until they arrive at static-freework stations.F Place parts on a grounded surface beforeremoving them from their containers.F Avoid touching pins, leads, or circuitry.F Always be properly grounded when touching astatic-sensitive component or assembly.GROUNDING METHODSThere are several methods for grounding. Useone or more of the following methods whenhandling or installing electrostatic-sensitiveparts:F Use a wrist strap connected by a ground cordto a grounded workstation or computerchassis. Wrist straps are flexible strapswith a minimum of 1 megohm +/- 10 percentXEROX 4219/MRP Mid Range Systems PrinterXEROX 4215/MRP Mid Range Systems Printer
