PROBLEM SOLVING 12–12 DOCUCOLOR 12 USER GUIDE12341267Resolving hardware problemsWARNING: When clearing the paper path in theFuser area (located in the Paper Path Module),remember that the surfaces are hot. To avoidinjury, proceed with caution when clearing thepath.Problem Suggested SolutionDry Ink (Toner) Cartridge:• Operator cannot reinsert a partially full dryink (toner) cartridge after it has beenremoved.• Operator mistakenly removed the wrong dryink (toner) cartridge and wishes to reinsertit.Reinstall the dry ink (toner) cartridge using thefollowing procedure:NOTE: The following procedure may result indry ink (toner) spillage on the floor. To protectthe floor, put a disposable covering or dropcloth beneath and in front of the copier/printer.• Reinstall the used and partially full dry ink(toner) cartridge by pushing in the cartridgeuntil it is fully seated against the rear stop.Rotate the cartridge in the direction indi-cated on the label located on the copier/printer. For more information, refer to theSystem Administration Guide, Replacingthe Dry Ink (Toner) Cartridge.• Inform the Xerox service representative atthe next service call about the above actionsince he or she may need to clean up thedry ink (toner) on internal copier/printercomponents.Electrical power to the copier/printer appearsto be off even though the Main Power Switchis on, and the power outlet to the copier/printeris operational. The copier/printer is equipped with an addi-tional safety feature to provide protection inthe event of an incorrectly wired electrical sup-ply to the copier/printer. This device, a GroundFault Protector (GFP), cuts off all power to thecopier/printer if an electrical fault is detected. If there appears to be no power to the copier/printer, determine if the switch on the GFP hasbeen tripped. The GFP is located on the lowerrear panel of the copier/printer. If the switch isin the off position (down), the GFP has beenactivated. Flip the switch up and determine ifelectrical power has been restored. If power isrestored, continue to operate the copier/printer normally. If the GFP reactivates, callyour representative.
