Using logical processingUsing LCDS Print Description Language 3-49RRESUME and RSUSPEND commandsThe print suppression logical processing function permits you todelete from printing groups of records that are distinguishable atthe start and end, but whose intermediate records may not beunique or distinguishable.Print suppression and resumption are invoked by the use of twoseparate commands: RSUSPEND and RRESUME. The tests foreach command are independent and must be describedseparately. Each of the commands can specify the full range oftests as described previously for the other logical processingcommands. When specifying either the RSUSPEND or RRESUMEcommand, you can also specify whether suspension orresumption of printing occurs on the current or next record. Thisis controlled by the BEGIN parameter. This additional controlprovides the necessary flexibility to cope with the variability ofrequirements for print suppression. The BEGIN parameter canbe specified independently in both the RSUSPEND and theRRESUME commands.RSUSPEND and RRESUME command parametersThe following table summarizes the parameters for theRSUSPEND and the RRESUME commands. The following sections describe the syntax of the RSUSPENDand RRESUME command parameters and explain their options.RSUSPEND and RRESUME BEGINSpecifies whether printing will be suspended starting with thecurrent record or with the following one.Syntax RSUSPEND BEGIN = {CURRENT | NEXT}RRESUME BEGIN = {CURRENT | NEXT}Table 3-36.
