HIP PRINTING TASKS7-2 XEROX DOCUPRINT 96/DOCUPRINT 96MX LPS OPERATOR GUIDEHIP printing tasksYou can perform HIP printing tasks by entering commands throughthe keyboard.The following sections contain instructions for performing specificHIP printing tasks.Enter HIP communication modeUse this task to enter HIP communication mode.Enter HIP Communication Mode task Enter the following command:HIP [option[,option[,...]]]HIP options are provided in this chapter in the task sections;however, for a complete list and explanation of all available HIPoptions, refer to theXerox DocuPrint 96/DocuPrint 96MX LPSOperations Reference.Note the following:• If your LPS has only one host and it is set up as the default hostin HIP.LIB, or if only one host is set up in HIP.LIB, entering HIPhas the same effect as entering HIP HOST, HIP ONLINE, andHIP START.• If your LPS has more than one host, then the one which is setup as the default host in the HIP.LIB becomes active when youenter the HIP command. If you want to use another host, youmust specify the host name.• The first time you enter HIP after performing a systemgeneration, you must specify a host name. This host is saved inthe recovery file of the system disk. If you do not enter a hostname, the following message appears:HP2010 NO HOST SELECTED• If the host is not online and responding, the following messageappears every 15 seconds until the host comes online or HIP isterminated:HP1240 HOST NOT RESPONDINGNote: Note that listed options are separated by commas whileparameters are separated from the option keyword by a space.
