Also check the BinDrive Motor Assembly for broken or worn gears.ProcedureNOTE: Prior to replacing a component, unplug the connectors to the components (Bin CamSwitch and Bin Drive Motor). Check the connectors for broken, bent and dirty pins. Unplug andplug-in the connectors several times to remove contaminants due to oxidation. The resistancecreated by the contaminants will change the Machine Timing (measured in ms) which is inca-pable of being observed with a multi meter.Observe the Sorter Bins during power up and initialization of the Sorter. The Sorter Bins ini-tialize correctly.Y NRemove the Front and Rear Covers from the Sorter. Remove the two screws on the BinHome Switch from under the Bin Assembly so as to be able to actuate and deactuate theswitch. Measure the voltage between J 4-3 (+) of the Sorter Control PWB and GND (-).Actuate and deactuate the switch. The meter changes state from a Low (0 VDC) to aHigh (+5 VDC).Y NThe voltage remains Low (0 VDC).Y NGo to Flag 2 and check the harness for an open circuit. If the harness is OK,replace the Bin Home Switch (PL 19.4).There is +5 VDC between J 8-10 (+) and GND (-).Y NRefer to the +5 VDC wirenet and check the wires for an open circuit to theSorter Control PWB.Go to Flag 2 and check the harness for an short circuit. If the harness is OK, replacethe Bin Home Switch (PL 19.4). If the problem persists, replace the Sorter ControlPWB (PL 19.1).The Bin Home Switch appears to be working normally. Check the Bins for proper align-ment. If the problem continues, replace the Sorter Control PWB (PL 19.1).Remove the Front and Rear Covers from the Sorter. Remove the two screws on the Bin CamSwitch from under the Bin Cam Assembly so as to be able to actuate and deactuate the switch.Measure the voltage between J 4-1 (+) of the Sorter Control PWB and GND (-). Actuate anddeactuate the switch. The meter changes state from a Low (0 VDC) to a High (+5 VDC).Y NThe voltage remains Low (0 VDC).Y NGo to Flag 1 and check the harness for an open circuit. If the harness is OK, replacethe Bin Cam Switch (PL 19.4).There is +5 VDC between J 8-10 and GND (-).Y NRefer to the +5 VDC wirenet and check the wires for an open circuit to the SorterControl PWB.Go to Flag 1 and check the wires for a short circuit. If the harness is OK, replace the BinCam Switch (PL 19.4). If the problem persists, replace the Sorter Control PWB (PL 19.1).Reinstall the Bin Cam Switch. Access the Digital Output (DO) test from the Control Panel.Enter code [C6]. Press the Item/Enter button. The Bin Drive Motor energizes and the Binsmove up one (1) Bin.Y NThere is +24 VDC between J9-3 (+) on the Sorter Control PWB and GND (-).Y NGo to 011-702 Sorter Cover Open RAP.Go to Flag 3 and check the wire for an open circuit. If OK, replace the Bin Drive Motor (PL19.4).Enter [Stop DO Test] from the Control Panel. Enter code [C6]. Press the Item/Enter button.Access the Digital Output (DO) test from the Control Panel. Enter code [C5]. Press the Item/Enter button. The Bin Drive Motor energizes and the Bins move down one (1) Bin.Y NThere is +24 VDC between J 9-3 (+) on the Sorter Control PWB and GND (-).Y NGo to 011-702 Sorter Open RAP.Go to Flag 4 and check the wire for an open circuit. If OK, replace the Bin Drive Motor (PL19.4).Enter [Stop DO Test] from the Control Panel. Enter code [C5]. Press the Item/Enter button.Place a piece of paper in Bin 1. Access the Digital Output (DO) test from the Control Panel.Enter code [D6]. Press the Item/Enter button. The Display is 1.Y NThere is +5 VDC between J 10-4 of the Sorter Control PWB and GND.Y NGo to Flag 5. Check for a short circuit to ground. The wire is good.Y NRepair the wire. There is +5 VDC between J 5-1 of the Sorter Control PWB and GND.Y NGo to Flag 6. Check for an open circuit or a short circuit to ground. The wireis good.Y NRepair the wire.Replace the Sensor Receiver (PL 19.2).AAB C D
