NOTEAlways check the Operator Panel to identify the location of a media jam beforeattempting to remedy the problem. Opening a media tray before knowing the mediajam location may tear the media, leaving pieces inside the machine. This conditionmay cause machine malfunctions.NOTEIf a piece of jammed media remains inside the machine, the Jam Code will not clear.NOTEIf a media jam displays again after you have cleared the first media jam, media isprobably remaining in another location. Clear this by referring to the Jam LocationIndicator. When you finish clearing a media jam, printing automatically resumesfrom the state before the jam occurred.WARNINGWhen removing jammed media, make sure that no pieces of torn media are left inthe machine. A piece of media remaining in the machine potentially could cause afire.WARNINGIf a sheet of media is wrapped around the heat roller, or the jammed media is difficultor impossible to see, do not try to remove it yourself. Doing so may cause injuries orburns. Switch off the machine immediately and contact your Xerox Customer SupportCenter.CAUTIONDo not touch the components inside the machine. Doing so can cause print defects.When the printer experiences a media jam, the following occurs:• The Jam Indicator flashes.• An jam code “J-XX” and the Jam Location Indicator light flashes.Media JamsTo clear the jam:1. Observe the location of the flashing indicator light of the Jam Location Indicator onthe Operator Panel.2.
