1-11 Configuration ManagementBack Up ConfigurationConfiguration backup provides the following functions:z Open and view the configuration file (.cfg file or .xml file) for the next startupz Back up the configuration file (.cfg file or .xml file) for the next startup to the host of the current userSelect Device > Configuration from the navigation tree to enter the backup configuration page, asshown in Figure 1-1.Figure 1-1 Backup configuration pagez After you click the upper Backup button in this figure, a file download dialog box appears. You canselect to view the .cfg file or to save the file locally.z After you click the lower Backup button in this figure, a file download dialog box appears. You canselect to view the .xml file or to save the file locally.The switch uses both .cfg and .xml configuration files to save different types of configurations. Whenbacking up or restoring the configuration file, you are recommended to back up or restore both of thetwo configuration files.Restore ConfigurationConfiguration restore provides the following functions:z Upload the .cfg file on the host of the current user to the device for the next startupz Upload the .xml file on the host of the current user to the device for the next startup, and delete theprevious .xml configuration file that was used for the next startupSelect Device > Configuration from the navigation tree, and then click the Restore tab to enter theconfiguration restore page, as shown in Figure 1-2.
