5-9Duralink64 Drivers for NetWareCreating the Failover Pair, Port Aggregation orFEC GroupsThe Failover pair consists of only two ports: the primary port andthe backup port.FEC supports either two or four ports. One, three, or more thanfour ports are not supported.After configuring ports, you may create Standalone, Failover, PortAggregation, or FEC groups using the following steps:1 In the Configuration Menu, select Set Groups, and press Enter.2 In the List of Existing Groups box, press Ins to add a newgroup. The message No groups currently exist appears the firsttime you add a new group 1 .3 Select the group, and press Enter. Group1 is the new group’sdefault name.4 In the Group Configuration menu, select Set Group Type, andpress Enter. The Set Group Type menu appears.5 In the Set Group Type menu, select Standalone, Failover, PortAggregation, or Fast EtherChannel, and press Enter.6 In the Group Configuration menu, select Add/Remove Ports,and press Enter. The Existing Ports box appears.7 In the Existing Ports box, the message No Ports Presentappears the first time you add a new group. Press Ins.8 In the Available Ports box, use the arrow keys to select theports for the new group, and press Enter. Repeat until all portsare selected.9 Press Esc to return to the Group Configuration menu. Theselected ports are transferred to the Existing Ports box.10 OPTIONAL . configsf automatically assigns a name to each newgroup. For example, the first group = Group1. To assign aunique name to a group:a From the Group Configuration menu, select Set GroupName, and press Enter.1 If you are in configsf, this message appears only when no groups arefound.
