It contains the following sections:• Arranging ISDN Service• Telephone Switch Support• ISDN BRI Line Configuration• SPIDs, Directory Numbers and Telephone Numbers• Telephone Switch ParametersRead the first section in this chapter for an overview of the steps required to order ISDN servicefrom your service provider (telephone company). The rest of the chapter details the informationthat the service provider needs to give you, and which you need to give to the service provider.Arranging ISDN ServiceThe service provider requires certain information about the capabilities of the CSX400. You mustgive the service provider the required switch settings (parameters) for the provider’s central officeswitch. Consult with your service provider at least two months before you require the installationand use of the ISDN service.Complete the following steps to arrange your ISDN service:1. Contact the service provider and determine what type of ISDN central office switches areavailable (see Telephone Switch Support in this chapter).2. Supply the service provider with the provisioning information for their switch type to enableproper configuration of the ISDN line (see Telephone Switch Parameters in this chapter).3. Once the ISDN line is installed, ensure that the service provider supplies you with the followinginformation:• ISDN telephone numbers• ISDN Service Profile Identifier numbers (SPIDs) and/or Directory Numbers (DNs) (seeSPIDs, Directory Numbers and Telephone Numbers in this chapter).
