Competitive Driving Mode (CTS-V)The driver can select this optional handling mode bypressing the Traction Control (TC) button on the steeringwheel twice within five seconds. COMPETITIVEDRIVING will be displayed in the DIC. Competitive drivingmode allows the driver to have control of the powerapplied to the rear wheels, while the StabiliTrak® systemhelps steer the vehicle by selective brake application.In competitive mode, the levels at which StabiliTrak® isengaged have been modified to better suit a performancedriving environment. When the traction control warninglight is on, the Traction Control System will not beoperating. Adjust your driving accordingly.When you press the TC button again, or turn theignition to ACCESSORY, the TCS will be on. Thetraction engaged symbol will be displayed temporarilyin the DIC and a chime will be heard.Limited-Slip Rear AxleIf your vehicle has this feature, your limited-slip rearaxle can give you additional traction on snow, mud, ice,sand or gravel. It works like a standard axle most ofthe time, but when one of the rear wheels has notraction and the other does, this feature will allow thewheel with traction to move the vehicle.StabiliTrak® SystemYour vehicle may have an electronic stability controlsystem called StabiliTrak® . It is an advanced computercontrolled system that assists you with directionalcontrol of the vehicle in difficult driving conditions.StabiliTrak® activates when the computer senses adiscrepancy between your intended path and thedirection the vehicle is actually traveling. StabiliTrak®selectively applies braking pressure at any one ofthe vehicle’s brakes to help steer the vehicle in thedirection which you are steering.4-12
