Using the Maintenance ScheduleWe at General Motors want to help you keep yourvehicle in good working condition. But we do not knowexactly how you will drive it. You may drive veryshort distances only a few times a week. Or you maydrive long distances all the time in very hot, dustyweather. You may use your vehicle in making deliveries.Or you may drive it to work, to do errands, or in manyother ways.Because of all the different ways people use theirvehicles, maintenance needs vary. You may need morefrequent checks and replacements. So please readthe following and note how you drive. If you have anyquestions on how to keep your vehicle in good condition,see your GM Goodwrench® dealer.This schedule is for vehicles that:• carry passengers and cargo within recommendedlimits. You will find these limits on the Tire andLoading Information label. See Loading YourVehicle on page 4-32.• are driven on reasonable road surfaces within legaldriving limits.• use the recommended fuel. See Gasoline Octaneon page 5-5.The services in Scheduled Maintenance on page 6-4should be performed when indicated. In trying to do some jobs,you can be seriously injured. Do your ownmaintenance work only if you have therequired know-how and the proper tools andequipment for the job.
