Black plate (4,1)Cadillac CTS/CTS-V Owner Manual (GMNA-Localizing-U.S./Canada/Mexico-6014443) - 2014 - CRC - 4/3/136-4 LightingIf the vehicle is started in a darkgarage, the automatic headlampsystem will come on immediately.Once the vehicle leaves the garage,it takes approximately one minutefor the automatic headlamp systemto change if it is bright enoughoutside. During that delay, theinstrument cluster may not be asbright as usual. Make sure theinstrument panel brightness controlis in the full bright position. SeeInstrument Panel IlluminationControl on page 6-6.To idle the vehicle with theautomatic headlamp system off, turnthe control to the off position.The headlamps will also stay onafter you exit the vehicle. Thisfeature can be programmed usingthe Driver Information Center (DIC).See Vehicle Personalization onpage 5-46.The regular headlamp system canbe turned on when needed.Lights On with WipersIf the windshield wipers areactivated in daylight with the engineon, and the exterior lamp control isin AUTO, the headlamps, parkinglamps, and other exterior lampscome on. The transition time for thelamps coming on varies based onwiper speed. When the wipers arenot operating, these lamps turn off.Move the exterior lamp control to Por ; to disable this feature.Adaptive ForwardLighting (AFL)If equipped, the Adaptive ForwardLighting System (AFL) pivots theheadlamps horizontally to providegreater road illumination whileturning. To enable AFL, set theexterior lamp control on the turnsignal lever to the AUTO position.Moving the switch out of the AUTOposition will deactivate the system.AFL will operate when the vehiclespeed is greater than 3 km/h(2 mph). AFL will not operate whenthe transmission is in R (Reverse).AFL is not immediately operableafter starting the vehicle; driving ashort distance is required tocalibrate the AFL. See ExteriorLamp Controls on page 6-1.Hazard Warning Flashers| (Hazard Warning Flasher):Press this button to make the frontand rear turn signal lamps flash onand off. This warns others that youare having trouble. Press again toturn the flashers off.
