Make sure there is no onein the way of the liftgate as it isopening and closing.{ CautionTo avoid damage to the liftgate orliftgate glass, make sure the areaabove and behind the liftgate isclear before opening it.Vehicles with an automatictransmission must be in P (Park)and a manual transmission must bein Neutral to operate the powerliftgate. The taillamps flash whenthe power liftgate moves.Turn the selector switch to chooseone of three modes:MAX: The liftgate opens to the fullopen height.3/4: The liftgate opens to areduced open height that can be setin a range of approximately ¾ opento full open. Use this setting toprevent the liftgate from openinginto overhead obstructions such asa garage door or roof mountedcargo during power operation. Theliftgate can still be opened fullymanually.OFF: The liftgate only operatesmanually in this position.In either the MAX or ¾ mode, topower open or close the liftgate:. Press and hold 8 on theRemote Keyless Entry (RKE)transmitter until the liftgate startsmoving. Press the center of the powerliftgate button on the driver door,with the driver door unlocked.. Press the touch pad on theoutside liftgate handle, with alldoors unlocked, to open theliftgate.
