Thesystem can be used while theignition is in the ON/RUN or ACC/ACCESSORY position. The range ofthe Bluetooth system can be up to9.1 m (30 ft). Not all phones supportall functions, and not all phoneswork with the Bluetooth system. Seewww.gm.com/bluetooth for moreinformation on compatible phones.Voice RecognitionThe Bluetooth system uses voicerecognition to interpret voicecommands to dial phone numbersand name tags.For additional information say “Help”while you are in a voicerecognition menu.Noise: Keep interior noise levels toa minimum. The system may notrecognize voice commands if thereis too much background noise.When to Speak: A short tonesounds after the system respondsindicating when it is waiting for avoice command. Wait until the toneand then speak.How to Speak: Speak clearly in acalm and natural voice.Audio SystemWhen using the in-vehicle Bluetoothsystem, sound comes through thevehicle's front audio systemspeakers and over-rides the audiosystem. Use the audio systemvolume knob, during a call, tochange the volume level. Theadjusted volume level remains inmemory for later calls. To preventmissed calls, a minimum volumelevel is used if the volume is turneddown too low.Bluetooth ControlsUse the buttons on the steeringwheel to operate the in-vehicleBluetooth system. See SteeringWheel Controls on page 5-3 formore information.b / g (Push To Talk): Press toanswer incoming calls, confirmsystem information, and startspeech recognition.c / ª (Phone On Hook): Pressto end a call, reject a call, or cancelan operation.For vehicles without a navigationsystem, the system responds with“Ready” followed by a tone.For vehicles with a navigationsystem, the system responds with atone. After the tone, say “HandsFree.” The system responds with“Ready” followed by a tone.PairingA Bluetooth-enabled cell phonemust be paired to the in-vehicleBluetooth system and thenconnected to the vehicle before itcan be used.
