Become familiar with the stateand local laws that applyspecifically to trailer towing.. Do not tow a trailer during thefirst 800 km (500 mi), to preventdamage to the engine, axle orother parts.. Then, during the first 800 km(500 mi) trailer towing, do notdrive over 80 km/h (50 mph) anddo not make starts at full throttle.. Vehicles with automatictransmissions can tow in D(Drive) but M (Manual Mode) isrecommended. See ManualMode on page 9-28. Use a lowergear if the transmission shiftstoo often. For vehicles with amanual transmission, it is betternot to use the highest gear.
