VEHICLE CARE 287light comes on, stop as soon aspossible and inflate the tyres to therecommended pressure shown on theTyre and Loading Information label.See Vehicle Load Limits 0 184.A message to check the pressure in aspecific tyre displays in the DriverInformation Centre (DIC). The low tyrepressure warning light and the DICwarning message come on at eachignition cycle until the tyres areinflated to the correct inflationpressure. Using the DIC, tyre pressurelevels can be viewed. For additionalinformation and details about the DICoperation and displays see DriverInformation Centre (DIC) 0 136.The low tyre pressure warning lightmay come on in cool weather whenthe vehicle is first started, and thenturn off as the vehicle is driven. Thiscould be an early indicator that the airpressure is getting low and needs tobe inflated to the proper pressure.A Tyre and Loading Information label, attached to your vehicle, shows thesize of the original equipment tyresand the correct inflation pressure forthe tyres when they are cold. SeeVehicle Load Limits 0 184 for anexample of the Tyre and LoadingInformation label and its location. Also see Tyre Pressure 0 283.The TPMS can warn about a low tyrepressure condition but it does notreplace normal tyre maintenance. SeeTyre Inspection 0 289, Tyre Rotation0 290, and Tyres 0 280.CautionTyre sealant materials are not allthe same. A non-approved tyresealant could damage the TPMSsensors. TPMS sensor damagecaused by using an incorrect tyresealant is not covered by thevehicle warranty. Always use onlythe GM approved tyre sealantavailable through your dealer orincluded in the vehicle.Factory-installed Tyre Inflator Kits usea GM approved liquid tyre sealant.Using non-approved tyre sealantscould damage the TPMS sensors. SeeTyre Sealant and Compressor Kit 0 296for information regarding the inflatorkit materials and instructions.Tyre Loading Selection — IfEquippedAdjust the vehicle tyre pressures tomatch the load condition according tothe Tyre and Loading Informationlabel. See Vehicle Load Limits 0 184.Select the appropriate Tyre Loadingsetting. See Instrument Cluster 0 119.If tyre pressures and Tyre Loading donot match, the tyre pressure light mayindicate a low tyre. See Tyre Pressure0 283.TPMS Malfunction Light andMessageThe TPMS will not function properly ifone or more of the TPMS sensors aremissing or inoperable. When thesystem detects a malfunction, the lowtyre pressure warning light flashes forabout one minute and then stays onfor the remainder of the ignition cycle.A DIC warning message also displays. The malfunction light and DICwarning message come on at each
