6 - 11. Printing process1.1 Outline of printing processThis device is a "Full color laser printer" that uses the principle of the electro photographicrecording system. There are 4 color toners "Yellow, magenta, Cyan, Black (hereinafter Y, M, C, K)"and a drum that forms a toner image inside the device. It forms a toner image on the drum for eachcolor and transfers the formed toner image on the drum to the Belt (intermediate transfer Belt). Itcan produce a full color print by overlapping the colors on the Belt. The printing process of this device is composed of the basic steps shown below.1 Charge: Charges the surface of drum.2 Exposure: Exposes the image part with a laser beam.3 Development: Develops image part using toner.4 1st transfer: Transfers the toner image on the drum to the belt.5 Cleaning: Cleans the drum.6 Repeating: Repeats the procedure of 1 to 5 for each toner in full color mode.7 2nd transfer: Transfers the toner image on the belt to paper.8 Neutralization: Removes charge from paper.9 Cleaning: Cleans the belt.V Fixing: Fixes toner on the paper using heat and pressure.Leg_Sec06_001FADrum PaperBelt (Intermediatetransfer Belt)1Charge2Exposure3Development41st transfer (drum to belt)6Repeating6Forming completetoner image72nd transfer (belt to paper)5Cleaning 9Cleaning 8NeutralizationVFixingChapter 6 Principles of Operation
