Uplink Failure Detection (UFD) | 1043Configuring Uplink Failure DetectionTo configure Uplink Failure Detection, follow these steps:Step Command Syntax and Mode Description1 uplink-state-group group-idCommand Mode: CONFIGURATIONCreates an uplink-state group and enabling the tracking ofupstream links on the switch/router.Valid group-id values are 1 to 16.To delete an uplink-state group, enter the no uplink-state-groupgroup-id command.2 {upstream | downstream} interfaceCommand Mode:UPLINK-STATE-GROUPAssigns a port or port-channel to the uplink-state group as anupstream or downstream interface. For interface, enter one of the following interface types:Fast Ethernet: fastethernet {slot/port | slot/port-range}1-Gigabit Ethernet: gigabitethernet {slot/port |slot/port-range}10-Gigabit Ethernet:tengigabitethernet {slot/port |slot/port-range}Port channel: port-channel {1-512 | port-channel-range}Where port-range and port-channel-range specify a range of portsseparated by a dash (-) and/or individual ports/port channels in anyorder; for example:upstream gigabitethernet 1/1-2,5,9,11-12downstream port-channel 1-3,5A comma is required to separate each port and port-range entry. To delete an interface from the group, enter the no {upstream |downstream} interface command.3 downstream disable links{number | all}Command Mode:UPLINK-STATE-GROUPConfigures the number of downstream links in the uplink-stategroup that will be disabled (Oper Down state) if one upstream linkin the group goes down.number specifies the number of downstream links to be broughtdown. Range: 1 to 1024.all brings down all downstream links in the group.Default: No downstream links are disabled when an upstream linkgoes down.Note: Downstream interfaces in an uplink-state group are put into alink-down state with an UFD-Disabled error message only when allupstream interfaces in the group go down.To revert to the default setting, enter the no downstreamdisable links command.4 downstream auto-recoverCommand Mode:UPLINK-STATE-GROUP(Optional) Enables auto-recovery so that UFD-disableddownstream ports in the uplink-state group come up when adisabled upstream port in the group comes back up.Default: Auto-recovery of UFD-disabled downstream ports isenabled. To disable auto-recovery, enter the no downstreamauto-recover command.
