Configure theDHCP server with the set of parameters described below for each client switch. Refer to the FTOSConfiguration Guide: Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol chapter for detailed information. The DHCPserver is configured to assign an IP to the system and other parameters.Update the following parameters on the appropriate DHCP server.• Boot File Name: The FTOS image to be loaded on the system. The boot file name is expected to useoption 67 or the boot filename in the BOOTP payload of the DHCP offer. If both are specified, option67 will be used. The system supports TFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, SFTP, SCP and FTP protocols, as well asfiles stored in Flash.• Configuration File Name: The configurations to be applied to the system. The configuration file nameis expected to use option 209.• File Server Address: The server where the Image and Configurations file are placed. The address isassumed to be a TFTP address unless it is given as a URL. The system supports TFTP, HTTP, HTTPS,SFTP, SCP and FTP protocols, as well as files stored in Flash.• Domain Name Server: (Optional) The DNS server to be contacted to resolve the hostname.• IP Address: Dynamic IP address for the system. This is used only for file transfers.The DHCP option codes used are:• 6 Domain Name Server IP• 60 Vendor class identifier• 66 TFTP Server name• 67 Boot filename• 150 TFTP server IP address• 209 Configuration FileNote: The configuration file is to maintain normal BMP functionality when a pre-configuration script is notsent.
