RMON Commands 321rmon eventThe rmon event Global Configuration mode command configures an event. Use the no form of thiscommand to remove an event.Syntax• rmon event index type [community text] [description text] [owner name]• no rmon event index• index — The event index. (Range: 1 - 65535)• type — The type of notification that the device generates about this event. Can have the followingvalues: none, log, trap, log-trap. In the case of log, an entry is made in the log table for each event.In the case of trap, an SNMP trap is sent to one or more management stations.• community text — If an SNMP trap is to be sent, it is sent to the SNMP community specified bythis octet string. (Range: 0-127 characters)• description text — A comment describing this event. (Range: 0-127 characters)• owner name — Enter a name that specifies who configured this event. If unspecified, the name isan empty string. (Range: 0-127 characters)Default ConfigurationThis command has no default configuration.Command ModeGlobal Configuration mode.Startup Alarm The alarm that may be sent when this entry is first set. If the first sample isgreater than or equal to the rising threshold, and startup alarm is equal to risingor rising and falling, then a single rising alarm is generated. If the first sample isless than or equal to the falling threshold, and startup alarm is equal falling orrising and falling, then a single falling alarm is generated.Rising Threshold A sampled statistic threshold. When the current sampled value is greater than orequal to this threshold, and the value at the last sampling interval is less than thisthreshold, a single event is generated.Falling Threshold A sampled statistic threshold.
