You have fixed the problem.No. See Chapter 11, “Getting Help,” for instructionson obtaining technical assistance.Troubleshooting the DisketteDrive SubsystemIf the monitor displays a system error message indicatinga diskette drive problem during execution of either theboot routine or the system diagnostics, the problem maybe caused by any of the following conditions:• The system configuration settings do not match thephysical diskette subsystem configuration.• The diskette drive cables are not properly connectedor are faulty.• An expansion card is interfering with proper driveoperations.• A diskette drive may be improperly configured.• The diskette drive is faulty.• The computer’s power supply is not providing suffi-cient power for the drives.• The computer’s diskette drive logic is faulty.The troubleshooting procedures for the diskette drivesubsystem are divided into the following subsections:• “Checking the Diskette Drive Subsystem”• “Troubleshooting the Diskette Drive Sub-system”Before you begin the troubleshooting procedures, com-plete steps 1 and 2 in the next subsection, “Checking theDiskette Drive Subsystem,” to verify that the system con-figuration information is correct for the installed diskettedrive(s).If, after completing these steps, the system boots cor-rectly and the monitor no longer displays a system errormessage, the problem is resolved. If you continue to haveproblems, however, proceed with the appropriate diskettedrive subsystem troubleshooting procedure.Checking the Diskette Drive SubsystemTo verify that the diskette drive subsystem is operatingproperly, follow these steps:1. Enter the System Setup program, and verify thatthe system is configured correctly for the DisketteDrive A and Diskette Drive B categories.See Chapter 4, “Using the System Setup Program,”in the User’s Guide for instructions.2. If the system configuration settings are incorrect,make the necessary corrections in the SystemSetup program, and then reboot the system.3.
