IN to switch the external input.• Selecting the AUTO, PCM and DTS modesThe mode switches as shown below eachtime the INPUT MODE button is pressed.Input mode selection functionDifferent input modes can be selected for the differentinput sources. The selected input modes for theseparate input sources are stored in the memory.q AUTO (auto mode)In this mode, the types of signals being input to thedigital and analog input jacks for the selected inputsource are detected and the program in the AVR-2105’s surround decoder is selected automaticallyupon playback. This mode can be selected for allinput sources other than PHONO and TUNER.The presence or absence of digital signals isdetected, the signals input to the digital input jacksare identified and decoding and playback areperformed automatically in DTS, Dolby Digital orPCM (2 channel stereo) format. If no digital signal isbeing input, the analog input jacks are selected.Use this mode to play Dolby Digital signals.w PCM (exclusive PCM signal playback mode)Decoding and playback are only performed whenPCM signals are being input.Note that noise may be generated when using thismode to play signals other than PCM signals.e DTS (exclusive DTS signal playback mode)Decoding and playback are only performed whenDTS signals are being input.r ANALOG (exclusive analog audio signal playbackmode)The signals input to the analog input jacks aredecoded and played.t EXT. Select theAUTO or DTS mode when playing signals recordedin DTS.Notes on playing a source encoded with DTS• Noise may be generated at the beginning ofplayback and while searching during DTSplayback in the AUTO mode.
