ENGLISH25ENGLISHBasic Operation Basic Operation• When making parameter settings, the display will return to theregular condition several seconds after the last button waspressed and the setting will be completed.2 Press and hold in the SURROUND PARAMETERbutton to select the parameter you want to set.3 Display the parameter you want to adjust, thenturn the SELECT knob to set it.The parameters which can be set differ for the differentsurround modes are displayed. (Refer to “Surround modesand parameters” ( page 53).)When turned counterclockwise:DIRECT STEREOMONO MOVIE DTS NEO:65CH/7CH STEREOMATRIXVIRTUAL SURROUNDDOLBY PRO LOGIC IIxROCK ARENA JAZZ CLUB VIDEO GAMETo select the surround mode while adjusting the surroundparameters, tone defeat or tone control, press theSURROUND MODE button, then operate the selector.SELECTSURROUND PARAMETERTONE DEFEATSURROUND MODETONE CONTROLSURROUNDPARAMETERCH SELECT/ENTERSURROUNDMODECURSOR2 Surround parameters rROOM SIZE:This sets the size of the sound field.There are five settings: “small”, “med.s” (medium-small),“medium”, “med.l” (medium-large) and “large”. “small”recreates a small sound field, “large” a large sound field.EFFECT LEVEL:This sets the strength of the surround effect.The level can be set in 15 steps from 1 to 15.
