2. If the optional air filters are installed, examine them (located behind thefront doors) and wash or replace them, if needed. Contact your servicerepresentative for replacement filters. To replace the filters:a. Open the UPS front door.b. Replace the filters.c. Close the UPS front door.3. Record the check results and any corrective actions in a service log.8.2.3 Periodic maintenanceInspect the UPS periodically to determine if components, wiring, andconnections exhibit evidence of overheating. Pay particular attention to boltedconnections. Bolted connections must be re-torqued periodically.8.2.4 Annual maintenanceWARNINGOnly authorized personnel that are familiar with the maintenance andservicing of the UPS system can do the annual preventive maintenance.Contact your service representative for more information about serviceofferings.8.2.5 Battery maintenanceWARNINGOnly authorized personnel can do the battery replacement and maintenance.Contact your service representative for battery maintenance.8.3 Recycling the used UPS or batteriesRemove the battery bank before disposing of the UPS or its battery cabinet.Obey the local requirements regarding battery recycling or disposal.WARNINGOnly authorized personnel can remove the batteries due to the risk caused byhigh energy and voltage.Do not discard waste electrical or electronic equipment in the trash.
