10 Warranty10.1 GeneralThe product is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for aperiod of twelve (12) months from its original date of purchase. The local officeor distributor may grant a warranty period different to the above. Please refer tolocal terms of liability as defined in the supply contract.The UPS manufacturer is not responsible for:• Any costs resulting from a failure if the installation, commissioning, repair,alternation, or ambient conditions of the equipment do not fulfill therequirements specified in the documentation delivered with the unit andother relevant documentation.• Equipment subjected to misuse, negligence or accident.• Equipment comprised of materials provided or designs stipulated by thepurchaser.The warranty is only valid if the installation inspection and initial startup of theUPS unit is carried out by an authorized Eaton Customer Service Engineer or byother qualified service personnel authorized by Eaton. Service and maintenanceof the UPS shall also be performed only by an authorized Eaton CustomerService Engineer or by other qualified service personnel authorized by Eaton.Otherwise the warranty will be voided.If the product fails to meet its published specifications due to a defect in materialand workmanship, covered by this warranty, the seller will repair or replace thewarranted product. Such repair or replacement will be made by Eaton or by aservice provider approved by Eaton. Repair or replacement during the warrantyperiod does not extend the original warranty. Warranty does not cover taxes,which will be due in connection with replacement or repair of the product.Batteries are warranted against failures in material and workmanship, notagainst the normal aging and reduction of ampere-hour capacity. The productstorage environment has to meet manufacturer's specifications, failure to do thiswill cause the warranty to be voided.Under no circumstances shall the manufacturer, its suppliers or subcontractorsbe liable for special, indirect, incidental or consequential damages, losses orpenalties.The technical data, information and specifications are valid at the time ofprinting.
