UPS INSTALLATION PLAN AND UNPACKINGEaton Power Xpert 9395P-1200 UPS (1200 kVA, 1200 kW) Installation and Operation Manual P-164000500 Rev 4 www.eaton.com/powerquality3-12 The ISBM and UPM sections are shipped with debris shields covering theventilation grills on top of the sections. Do not remove the debris shields untilinstallation is complete. However, remove the shields before operating the UPS.Once the debris shields are removed, do not place objects on the ventilation grills. In a common battery system, all UPMs are powered from one common batterysource. In a separate battery system, each UPM is powered from separate batterysources. UPSs in distributed bypass and parallel systems must use a separate batterysystem for each UPS. On a UPS configured as an Input Output Module (IOM), requirements for bypassinput wiring, termination, conduit, and bypass breaker are not applicable. A Field Installed UPM (FI-UPM) is always designated as UPM 4.If the power rating listed on the nameplate of the installed UPS is not found in thefollowing tables, wire the UPS using the fully rated specifications. Otherwise, calculate the required wire, conduit, and breaker sizes using the following guidelinesin addition to those already listed in paragraph 3.2.3: Select wire size according to the UPS nameplate. Do not use wire larger than the largest size listed in Table 3‐5 through Table 3‐14. Use terminal recommendations from Table 3‐15 through Table 3‐19. Size and number of conduits must not exceed those listed in Table 3‐20 andTable 3‐21. Select overcurrent protection input, battery, and output breakers according to theUPS nameplate rated for either 80% or 100%. Follow all applicable NEC and local codes. For four UPM external wiring requirements, including the minimum AWG size ofexternal wiring, see Table 3‐5 for installations using a common battery system orTable 3‐6 for installations using a separate battery system. Wire sizes listed are forcopper wiring only. For three UPM external wiring requirements, including the minimum AWG size ofexternal wiring, see Table 3‐7 for installations using a common battery system orTable 3‐8 for installations using a separate battery system. Wire sizes listed are forcopper wiring only. Because of the future upgradability to a fully rated 1200 kVA UPSwith the addition of the FI-UPM, the UPS wiring is specified for 1200 kVA in Table 3‐7and Table 3‐8.
