2 Installation2.1 Mounting the XN300 slice modulesXN300 slice modules 02/24 MN050002EN Eaton.com 20To mount the system on the DIN-rail, join the XN 300 slice modules and thegateway to form a system block and then snap the entire system block ontothe DIN-rail.To mount the system block, follow the steps below:▶ The gateway must be the first element on the left in the system block.▶ Disengage the side locking tabs on the XN300 slice modules by pullingon the front cover (blue). Make sure that all locking tabs (blue) are in thefront so that they will engage the new slice. (the front cover stay-putfunction is intended to make the process easier).▶ Attach an XN300 slice module from the right in such a way that thelocking tabs engage the guide.Figure 2: Joining the gateway and an XN300 slice module to form a system block▶ Grab the front cover from the top and bottom and push it back towardsthe XN300 slice module so that the slice modules lock solidly into placewith each other.Figure 3: Locking the system block in place￫ The gateway's front cover is non-detachable and cannot beremoved.1222133
