Powering the 76CS PlusYour 76CS Plus can be powered by batteries or usingexternal power.Installing the BatteriesThe 76CS Plus operates on two “AA” batteries (notincluded). Alkaline or NiMH batteries may be used.See page 77 for setting the battery type. Stored datawill not be lost when batteries are removed. Install thebatteries in the back of the unit, as described below.To install batteries:1. Lift the D-Ring and turn it counter-clockwise1/4 turn. Lift off the battery cover.2. Insert the batteries, observing the properpolarity. A polarity diagram is molded into thebattery compartment.3. Reinstall the battery cover by reinserting thelocking pin in the back of the unit. Turn theD-Ring 1/4 turn clockwise to lock in place.For more information about using and disposing ofbatteries, refer to page 89.BatteryCompartmentLockingPin SlotUsing External PowerTo save battery life, you can use an external powersource to provide power to your 76CS Plus.To use external power:1. Lift the rubber weather cap to expose thepower connector on the back of the unit. Referto the image on page 1 for connector location.2. Align the notches and push the plug into theconnector until fully seated.3.
