Panning the MapThe panning arrow allows you to pan the map toview other map areas. As you pan past the edge ofthe current map display, the screen moves to providecontinuous map coverage. The position icon staysin your present location and may not be visible on thedisplay screen when you pan the map.To pan the map:Press Up, Down, Right, or Left on the Rocker key.The panning arrow moves the map so you canview different parts of the map.Panning the MapMap featurehighlightedPanning Arrowdata window:Shows thedistance andbearing fromyour presentlocationand arrow’spositioncoordinates.As you move the arrow, the distance and bearing fromyour present position to the arrow appears in the datawindow, along with the arrow’s position coordinates.When you zoom in pan mode, the arrow stays cen-tered on the screen. The arrow’s coordinates appear inthe position field, and the distance and bearing fromyour present position update as you move the arrow.To re-center the map on your currentposition:When you are finished panning the Map, pressQUIT. The map automatically moves to show yourpresent location, and the unit returns to positionmode.Use the arrow to select on-screen map features, whichallows you to review a selected item directly from themap display. If you want to view the item’s informa-tion page, highlight the item on the map and pressENTER. The information page opens, allowing youto save the item as a waypoint, view the item on themap, and go to the item.
