Averaging the Waypoint’s LocationAveraging a waypoint’s location makes the unit takeseveral sample location measurements for a waypointto calculate a more accurate position reading.To calculate the average location:1. Highlight the waypoint on the map or in theFind Menu and press ENTER. Press MENUwhen the item’s information page is open.2. Highlight AverageLocation and pressENTER.3. The Average Locationwindow appears. Watchthe fields change asthe unit calculates theaverage position of thewaypoint. Press ENTERto save the updatedposition.NOTE: You must have a GPS satellite fix beforeyou can average a waypoint’s location.Projecting a WaypointYou can create a new waypoint by “projecting” thedistance and bearing from a specific location.To project a new waypoint’s location:1. Open the item’s information page (by markinga waypoint, opening the Find Menu, or a mapitem). You should open the item from whichyou will project the new waypoint2. Press MENU, highlight Project Waypoint, andpress ENTER to open the Project Waypointpage.3. To enter the bearing that the new waypointwill be projected from the original waypoint,highlight the Bearing field and press ENTER.Use the Rocker key to enter the bearing andpress ENTER.4.
