Using xImage for Waypoint IconsxImage allows you to exchange images between yourPC and your 76CS Plus. You can download and savescreen shots of any screen displayed on your unit.xImage also allows you to download customizablewaypoint symbols from compatible GPS units, cus-tomize them (if you have an image editing programon your PC), and send them back to your GPS unit.You can download xImage from the Garmin Web siteat http://www.garmin.com/ximage/. Refer to the helpfile for complete instructions about using xImage.InterfacingInterface formats are selected from the InterfaceSetup page, discussed on pages 85–86. The input/out-put lines on your 76CS Plus are RS-232 compatible,allowing easy interface to a wide range of externaldevices, including PC’s, differential beacon receivers,marine autopilots, or a second GPS receiver.The following formats are supported for connectionof external devices: GARMIN proprietary DifferentialGPS (DGPS), NMEA 0183 version 3.01 (up to threedevices), and RTCM SC-104 input (version 2.0).The following are the Approved Sentences forNMEA 0183, version 3.01 output: GPGGA, GPGLL,GPGSA, GPGSV, GPRMB, GPRMC, GPRTE,GPVTG, GPWPL, and GPBOD.
