September 2016 Service ManualPower PackPart No. 38139 AWP Super Series • IWP Super Series 89Power Pack4-1 Power Pack4-1Power PackHow to Change a Power Pack1 Fully lower the platform.2 Turn the key switch off and disconnect thepower supply.IWP models: Pull the base lowering handle tofully lower the base.3 Remove the power unit cover.4 AC and DC models: Separate both controlcable quick disconnect couplers from theground control box.Air models: Disconnect the air lines from theair valve container, filter regulator and airlubricator.5 AC and DC models: Separate the batteryquick disconnects.6 DC models: Disconnect the battery cablesfrom the motor start solenoid.7 AWPS models with Narrow Base or RoughTerrain Base: Remove the loading wheels.8 Remove the breather cap from the hydraulicpower unit and install a pipe plug in the fillerhole.9 Tag, disconnect and plug the hydraulic hosesfrom the power unit.Bodily injury hazard. Sprayinghydraulic oil can penetrate andburn skin. Loosen hydraulicconnections very slowly to allowthe oil pressure to dissipategradually. Do not allow oil tosquirt or spray.10 Support the power pack and remove thepower pack mounting bolts.Crushing hazard. The powerpack will fall if not properlysupported when removed fromthe machine.11 Remove the power pack.InstallationTip-over hazard. On NarrowBase and Rough Terrain Basemodels, the counterweightsmust be installed on the newpower pack.Component damage hazard. Donot overtighten the hydraulicfittings.Note: Do not install the motor cover until the reliefvalve adjustment is complete. Refer to RepairProcedure, How to adjust the Pressure ReliefValve.
