viBASIC MANUALD Spurious signalsWhen operating in the DV mode, you may hear some noisesaround 430.080 MHz. These may be caused by spurioussignals generated in the transceiver’s circuit but they do notindicate a transceiver malfunction.IMPORTANT NOTESD When using the GPS receiver• The GPS receiver is installed under the transceiver’s toppanel. Therefore, when the GPS receiver is activated, donot cover the top with anything that will block the satellitesignals.• GPS signals cannot pass through metal objects. Whenusing the transceiver inside a vehicle, you may not receiveGPS signals. We recommend you use it near a window.• The GPS receiver may not work if used in the followinglocations:1. Tunnels or high-rise buildings2. Underground parking lots3. Under a bridge or viaduct4. In remote forested areas5. Under bad weather conditions (rainy or cloudy day)• The GPS receiver may not work if the transceiver operatesnear the 440.205 MHz. This is due to signals made inthe internal circuit and does not indicate a transceivermalfunction.• The Global Positioning System (GPS) is built and operatedby the U.S. Department of Defense. The Department isresponsible for accuracy and maintenance of the system.Any changes by the Department may affect the accuracyand function of the GPS system. The GPS receiver isinstalled here.
