Using Your System 2-15During the boot-up process, the system performs Power-OnSelf-Test (POST) diagnostic tests that check majorhardware components, such as memory and interfacecircuits. It compares the hardware it finds with parameterslast saved by the Setup utility.Several configuration messages appear on the screen duringPOST. If POST finds any discrepancies between theparameters it finds and the parameters last saved, it displaysan error message. The system then prompts you to run theSetup utility to correct the configuration.If POST does not find any discrepancies in its configurationtest, the computer loads system files into memory.Once the system files are loaded, the system automaticallyloads Microsoft Windows for Workgroups.Your system is ready for use.Diskette LoadingUse the following procedure to insert and remove a 3 1/2-inch diskette in the standard diskette drive.1. Hold the diskette label side up and insert it into thediskette drive until you hear a click.2. To remove a diskette from the diskette drive, press therelease button on the drive.CAUTION: Do not turn off system power or removea diskette from the diskette drive when the diskettedrive lamp is lit. To do so can damage both the dataon the diskette and the drive.Do not reset the system (except as a last resort)when the diskette drive is in use.
