Security 7-7Enabling CNATo enable CNA, select Calling Number Authentication in the DefaultAnswer Profile screen and choose one of the following settings:n Ignored: CNA is not in effect. This is the default setting.n Preferred: Authentication is attempted if the calling number isavailable. If authentication fails, or the calling number is notavailable, the call proceeds as usual and the caller may stillconnect successfully. Use this setting if you expect to receiveboth regular and CNA-authenticated calls.n Required: Authentication is attempted if the calling number isavailable. If authentication fails, or the calling number is notavailable, the Netopia ISDN Router disconnects the caller. Usethis setting if you require all calls to be CNA-authenticated.Configuring a connection profile for CNATo configure a connection profile for CNA, select Calling Number inthe Add Connection Profile screen or the Change Connection Profilescreen and enter the calling number associated with the connectionprofile’s destination site. The Calling Number item does not appearand is not in effect if the connection profile is set to Dial Out Only(see the Dial On Demand item in the Telco Options screen,page 2-31).The calling number may not be the same as the number found in theNumber to Dial item. If you are unsure of the correct calling numberto use, follow these steps to find it:1. Select Calling Number Authentication in the Default AnswerProfile screen and choose Required.2. Request a call to the Netopia ISDN Router from the site whosecalling number is needed.
