The features are presented together because theyshare many common characteristics.CIS ANI Digits Manipulation and Gateways Enhancements features allowthe ANI to be built in a more flexible way when the call is originated from aset and from a route.ANI DefinitionThe Automatic Number Identification (ANI) information is a string of digitssent to the Central Office (CO), which it uses to identify the calling subscriberfor billing purposes, Malicious Call Trace (MCT) purposes, and for immediateinformation about the subscriber when reaching some vital service such asfire brigade, emergency medical care, or law enforcement officials.
