Normally the initialdisplay is set to the condition settings screen (page 1-4). [ADDRESS BOOK] (ABC) [ADDRESS BOOK] (Group) [FAX] [E-MAIL/FTP] (when the network scanner optionis installed) [INTERNET-FAX] (when the network scanneroption is installed)When an address book (ABC or Group) is selected,the selected index of that address book screen (page1-5) is set as the initial screen.When [SWITCH AUTOMATICALLY TO COPY MODESCREEN] is selected, the display will automaticallyswitch to the copy mode screen if no action is taken inthe fax / image send mode screen for 20 seconds.The number of direct address/senderkeys displayed settingThe number of one-touch keys displayed in eachaddress book screen can be changed from 6 (thenormal setting) to 8 or 12.Touch 6, 8, or 12 to select the desired number.(When the network scanner option is installed, theselections are 6 and 9.)Must input next address key atbroadcast settingYou can select whether the [NEXT ADDRESS] key mustbe pressed before entering the next destination whenperforming a broadcast transmission (page 3-2). Normallythe machine is set so that touching the [NEXT ADDRESS]key can be omitted except when the numeric keys are usedto enter one full fax number after another full fax number.Example: Normal setting (factory setting)If the box is checked, it will no longer be possible toomit the [NEXT ADDRESS] key as shown in theabove example. Even if the next destination to beentered is a one-touch key, the [NEXT ADDRESS]key must be touched before the one-touch key canbe entered. If an operator attempts to enter thenext destination without touching the [NEXTADDRESS] key, an alarm will sound.The number of file name/subject keysdisplayed setting (when the networkscanner option is installed)This program is used to select the number of filename / subject keys that are displayed in thescreen. The number of keys can be set to 3 or 6.Touch 3 or 6 to select the desired number.Initial resolution settingThis program is used to set the initial resolution infax mode. Touch the [FAX] key and then changethe setting from "STANDARD" to "FINE", "SUPERFINE", or "ULTRA FINE". "HALF TONE" can alsobe selected. "STANDARD" is normally selected forthe initial resolution setting.If you wish to select HALF TONE for the selectedresolution setting, touch the [HALF TONE] key tohighlight it.Select [APPLY THE RESOLUTION SET WHENSTORED] to use the resolution setting of a storedfax image when resending the image.NOTESettings established with the key operator programs can be verified by printing them out (page 8-11).NOTEFor the key name that appears in each one-touchkey, a maximum of 18 characters can appear whenthe number of one-touch keys displayed is set to 6 or8.
