They may damage the plastic parts of the machine. Do not lubricate your machine with oil.1 Turn off your machine.Reference "Turning Off Your Machine" (P. 19)2 Wipe the surface of the machine with asoft cloth lightly moistened with water orneutral detergent.3 Dry the surface of the machine with adry soft cloth.Cleaning the Document GlassIt is recommended to clean the document glassonce a month to maintain image quality of theprintouts.Note Do not use benzine, thinners, or alcohol as a cleaningagent. They may damage the plastic parts of the machine.1 Open the document glass cover.2 Wipe the document holding pad (1),document glass (2) and ADF documentglass (3) surface with a soft cloth lightlymoistened with water.3 Close the document glass cover.Memo If the document glasses surface and the document holdingpad get too dirty, wipe them with a soft cloth lightlymoistened with neutral detergent, and then wipe it againwith a soft cloth lightly moistened with water.Cleaning Document FeedingRollers in the ADFIf the document feeding rollers in the ADF arecontaminated with ink, toner particles or paperdust, documents and outputs get dirty and apaper jam may occur. To prevent this, it isrecommended to clean the rollers once a month.Note Do not use benzine, thinners, or alcohol as a cleaningagent. They may damage the plastic parts of yourmachine.1 Open the ADF cover.2 Wipe the document feeding rollers (1)and surface of the Guide (2) with a softcloth lightly moistened with water.Wipe the whole surface of the roller while turningit with your hand.3 Close the ADF cover.Memo If the rollers get too dirty, wipe them with a soft clothlightly moistened with neutral detergent, and then wipe itagain with a soft cloth lightly moistened with water.23112
