Beaming data29Graffiti writing comes with several predefined ShortCuts, and you can also createyour own. Each ShortCut can represent up to 45 characters. For example, youmight create a ShortCut for your name or for the header of a memo. See “ShortCutspreferences” in Chapter 18 to learn about creating your own ShortCuts.To use a ShortCut, draw the ShortCut stroke followed by the ShortCut characters.The ShortCut symbol appears at the insertion point to show that you are inShortCut mode.Your handheld includes the predefined Graffiti ShortCuts shown in the followingtable.Beaming dataYour handheld is equipped with an infrared (IR) port that is located at the top ofthe handheld, behind the small dark shield. The IR port supports the IrCOMMimplementation of the standards for infrared communication established by theInfrared Data Association (IrDA).
