SLT Features Section 700 - OperationConference CallsDescriptionConference Calls allow you to add another party to an existing conversation. With the standardsystem configuration, up to 4 parties can be included in a conference call at any one time. If theoptional Conference Card is installed, additional parties up to a total of 8 can participate in aconference call.Any combination of extensions and CO lines can be in the conference as long as the originalextension is in the conference and the total number of parties does not exceed 8. Only one operation isused to establish and add to a conference. You simply have to place the current call on hold, dial thenext party and press the CONF key. If the internal partyremains in the conversation, the conference call remains in progress.• When three or four parties are conferenced, a built-in 4-party conference circuit is used. If no4-party conference circuit is available, a conference cannot be established.• When a fifth party is added, the conference is moved to a conference circuit on the 8-partyconference card. If an 8-party conference circuit is not available, a fifth party cannot be added toa conference.• Once an 8-party conference circuit is used, it continues to be used as long as the conferencecontinues.• An 8-party conference card supports up to four 8-party conference circuits. However, the cardmust be placed in cabinet slots 1, 5, or 9 to support more than one 8-party conference circuit (andjumpered accordingly).
