Others101VQT1J82Cautions for Use∫ Optimal use of the cameraTake care not to drop or knock the unitor put a lot of pressure on it.• Take care not to knock or drop the bag/case that you inserted the camera in asthe shock may cause damage to thecamera, lens or LCD monitor.• Do not attach any other items to the wriststrap that’s included with your camera.While being stored, that item can restagainst the LCD monitor and damage it.• Do not use a paper bag as it can easily ripcausing the camera to fall and bedamaged.• We strongly recommend you purchase agood camera bag/case from your localdealer to protect your camera.Keep the camera as far away as possiblefrom electromagnetic equipment (suchas microwave ovens, TVs, video gamesetc.).• If you use the camera on top of or near aTV, the pictures and sound on the cameramay be disrupted by electromagneticwave radiation.• Do not use the camera near cell phonesbecause doing so may result in noiseadversely affecting the pictures andsound.• Recorded data may be damaged, orpictures may be distorted, by strongmagnetic fields created by speakers orlarge motors.• Electromagnetic wave radiation generatedby microprocessors may adversely affectthe camera, disturbing the pictures andsound.• If the camera is adversely affected byelectromagnetic equipment and stopsfunctioning properly, turn the camera offand remove the battery or disconnect ACadaptor (DMW-AC5PP; optional). Thenreinsert the battery or reconnect ACadaptor and turn the camera on.Do not use the camera near radiotransmitters or high-voltage lines.• If you record near radio transmitters orhigh-voltage lines, the recorded picturesand sound may be adversely affected.Always use the supplied cords andcables. If you use optional accessories,use the cords and the cables suppliedwith them.Do not extend the cords or the cables.Do not spray the camera withinsecticides or volatile chemicals.• If the camera is sprayed with suchchemicals, the body of the camera may bedamaged and the surface finish may peeloff.• Do not keep rubber or plastic products incontact with the camera for a long periodof time.Do not use benzine, thinner or alcoholfor cleaning the camera.• Before cleaning the camera, remove thebattery or disconnect the AC adaptor(DMW-AC5PP; optional) from theelectrical outlet.• The body of the camera may be damagedand the surface finish may peel off.• Wipe the camera with a soft, dry cloth.• Do not use kitchen detergent or achemically treated cloth.∫ About the LCD monitor• Do not press the LCD monitor withexcessive force. Uneven colors mayappear on the LCD monitor and it maymalfunction.• If the camera is cold when you turn it on,the picture on the LCD monitor will beslightly darker than usual at first. However,the picture will return to normal brightnesswhen the internal temperature of thecamera increases.
