External braking resistanceWhen a higher braking power is needed, it is possible to connect an external brakingresistance to the drive by X7 terminal block.About the connection, must use the X7 terminal block, to remove the bridge between the INand BRC pin and to connect the external resistance between the +DC and BRC pin (forSLVD10N, SLVD15N and SLVD17N versions connect the external braking between the+DC and BRC pin and insert a bridge between +DC and IN).The minimum cross section of the conductors depends on the drive size and it is equal to theminimum cross section of the conductors between motor and drive (see paragraph “Sectionsand cable specifications”). It is necessary to minimize the connection cable length .In any case the cable length must be less than 3 m.Internal resistance External resistanceAll models SLVD1N … SLVD7N SLVD10N, SLVD15N, SLVD17NWhen the values of external braking are different (higher) to the default value, ohm value andpower value, it’s necessary to set these value in these parameter:Pr208 Braking resistance. Value of braking resistance. Is necessary insert the value ofresistance when is used an external resistance with advanced value.Pr209 Power of braking resistance. Value of power of braking resistance. Is necessaryinsert the value of power when is used an external resistance with advanced value.b99.4 Braking resistance overload alarm disable alarm.
