User guide Menu63Test functionHex Dump With the interface mode (Hex-Dump/H-Dump) you can diagnose datatransmission from the computer to the printer. In this special mode, thedata from the computer is printed out in two columns. The text in theleft column is printed in hexadecimal format and in the right column inASCII format. This can be used to diagnose print problems.Some applications require status response from the printer. Insuch case Hex Dump is ineffective for diagnosing problems. Inthese cases contact your customer support or dealer for assis-tance.Activating Hex DumpSwitch off the printer.Keep the STOP/EJECT key pressed andpower the printer on by pressing the ON/OFF key. Keep the STOP/EJECT keypressed until Hex Dump NO PAPER ap-pears on the LCD display.Insert a sheet of paper. The sheet is drawn in.Send the test file from your PC to the printer.The message Hex Dump Printing... is dis-played and data is printed.
