List of Removal / Installation Procedures421Replacement ProceduresWARNING Unplug the printer power cord from the printer or power outlet beforedoing any maintenance procedure. Failure to remove power could resultin injury to you or damage to equipment. Only apply power duringmaintenance if you are instructed to do so in a maintenance procedure.IMPORTANT The components specified in this chapter are field replaceable units(FRUs). FRUs must be repaired at the factory. Do not try to repair theseitems in the field. Also do not attempt field repairs of electroniccomponents or assemblies. Do not de-solder any circuit boardcomponents. Replace a malfunctioning electronic assembly with anoperational spare. Most electronic problems are corrected by replacingthe printed circuit board assembly, sensor, or cable that causes the faultindication. The same is true of failures traced to the hammer bank: it isnot field repairable so you must replace the entire shuttle assembly.Hammer spring assemblies, the hammer bank cover, and the ribbonmask are the only replaceable components of the shuttle frameassembly.List of Removal / Installation ProceduresBelt, Paper Feed Timing ................................................................. page 422Control Panel Assembly.................................................................. page 423Cover Assembly, Top, Pedestal Models ......................................... page 423Paper Feed Motor ........................................................................... page 424Paper Guide Leaf, Center ............................................................... page 425Paper Guide Leaf, Front.................................................................. page 425Paper Guide Leaf, Outer ................................................................. page 425Paper Out Sensor, Adjustment ....................................................... page 420Shaft, Splined.................................................................................. page 428Shaft, Support ................................................................................. page 431Tractor (L/R).................................................................................... page 432Tractor Assembly Support Gate ...................................................... page 433
