TASCAM DP-32SD 254 – PreparationStarting up & shutting downCAUTION• Turn down the volume of any sound monitoring systemconnected to the unit before starting up or shutting downthe unit.• Do not use headphones when starting up or shuttingdown the unit. A loud noise could cause damage to yourheadphones or your ears.Starting up the unitPress and hold the STANDBY/ON button on the rear panel for afew seconds.When the unit starts, the startup screen opens briefly followedby the Home screen.Start-up screenHome screenWhen the unit starts up, it defaults to multitrack mode,regardless of the mode used last before shutting down.Shutting downMake the following preparations before shutting down the unit.• Stop the recorder. (The unit cannot be shut down duringrecording and other operations.)• Return to the Home screen.• If the unit is connected to a computer, disconnect the USBcable after performing the necessary procedure on thecomputer to disconnect the unit.After making these preparations, press and hold the STANDBY/ON button on the rear panel until the following screen opens.The power turns off (enters standby) after the unit completes itsshutdown process, which includes saving various informationfrom your session.CAUTIONWhen the power is ON, do not disconnect the powercord or otherwise interrupt the power to the unit. Doingso will cause all settings made since the last time yousaved it to be lost. If the power is interrupted while anSD card is being accessed, all recorded songs and dataon the card could be damaged beyond recovery.NOTEWhen the power is turned off (put in standby), the currently loadedsong is saved. When the power is turned on again, the last songused is reloaded in the same state it was when the power wasturned off (put in standby). You can even undo and redo previousoperations.
