When the recorder is stopped, press the MENU button toopen the MENU screen.2. Use the JOG/DATA dial or the CURSOR (5/b/g/t)buttons to select (highlight green) PREFERENCE, and thenpress the F4 (t)button.The PREFERENCE screen opens.3. Use the CURSOR (5/b) buttons to select (highlight blue)Date/Time, and then press the F4 (t) button.The DATE/TIME screen opens.4. Use the CURSOR (g/t) buttons to move the cursor(highlighted blue) to the desire item, and then use the JOG/DATA dial to change the value.5. After making the settings, press the F2 (YES) button toreturn to the Home screen.NOTE• The time indication stops while the time is being set.• You can automatically add the date to file names by setting theSong Name Type to DATE in the PREFERENCE menu.Preparing an SD card for useIn order to use an SD card in this unit, you must format it first.CAUTIONThe included SD card is already formatted, so formattingit is not necessary. Formatting the supplied SD card willerase the demo song stored on it.1. Confirm that the SD card is loaded and turn the power on.2. An “Invalid Card” pop-up warning appears when a new SDcard or an SD card formatted for use with another device isinserted in the unit.3. You can also reformat a card in this unit at any time. (See“Quick formatting an SD card” on page 62 and “Fullformatting an SD card” on page 63.)To close the pop-up message, press the F1 button.Recorder modesThis unit has four modes.Multi TrackUse to operate the unit as a multitrack recorder.BounceUse to bounce tracks. (See “Bouncing tracks” on page 41.)MixdownUse to mix down tracks to create a master file. (See “Mixing downtracks” on page 54 and “Creating a master file” on page 55.)MasteringUse to play back the master files that you have created andapply effects and tailor them to suit your preferences (mastering).(See “Checking the master file” on page 56 and “Using themastering tools” on page 56.)When the unit starts up, it defaults to multitrack mode,regardless of the mode used last before shutting down.When in any mode other than multitrack mode, many of theonscreen operations are unavailable.In this manual, explanations are given for multitrack modeunless otherwise noted.
