Select the I/O SETTING screen LOW CUT item to open theLOW CUT screen. (See “Basic menu operation procedures” onpage 10.)2. Set the cutoff frequency of the low-cut filter during input.Options: OFF (default), 40 Hz, 80 Hz, 120 Hz, 220 HzNOTEThis setting can also be changed when in recording standbyor recording on the FUNCTION screen. In this case, you canchange the sound while monitoring the actual sound. (See“Function menu list” on page 13.)Using the limiterUsing the limiter can reduce distortion due to sudden excessivesound input.NOTE• Distortion of sounds may occur when signals that are veryloud are input even if the LIMITER function is activated.In such a case, lower the recording level or increase thedistance between the mic and the sound source.• The limiter is disabled if the input source is set to DIGITAL.• When the limiter function is being used, the dual ADCfunction cannot be used at the same time. (See “Improvingrecording signal-to-noise (Dual ADC function)” on page25.)Using the Level Control FunctionYou can set the level control function for use with mic input.1. Select the I/O SETTING screen LEVEL CONTROL item to openthe LEVEL CONTROL screen. (See “Basic menu operationprocedures” on page 10.)2. Set the operation mode of the level control function.Option MeaningOFF (default) This turns level control off.AUTO LEVELWhen the input sound level is too low ortoo high, the recording volume will beincreased or decreased automatically toan appropriate level.PEAK REDUCTIONThis function reduces the recording levelautomatically to a level that will notdistort when input sounds are too loud.The recording level will not be raisedautomatically. The recording level can beraised manually if required.NOTE• If the input source is set to LINE, EXT LINE or DIGITAL, thelevel control function is disabled.• When AUTO LEVEL is selected, the input level knob has noeffect because the volume is adjusted automatically.• You can also change this setting with the FUNCTION screenLEVEL CONTROL item.
